C Spencer Yeh - solo violin
C Spencer Yeh has been releasing music under the pseudonym Burning Star Core for more than a decade. He makes electronic drone pieces and solo violin recordings and collaborates regularly with musicians like John Wiese and Nate Wooley. In 2008 he played a DNK show, arrived only 10 minutes before he was supposed to perform and proceeded to play a set which pretty much tore the roof off the building. Yeh is a stunning musician and soloist, definitely not to be missed!
Okkyung Lee - solo cello
Okkyung Lee is a cellist, improviser and composer from Korea. Since relocating to New York's Lower East Side in 2000 she has established herself firmly in the downtown scene by continuous collaborations with the likes of Laurie Anderson, Carla Bozulich and Fred Frith. Her debut album
Nihm was released on John Zorn's Tzadik label.
