In September we are welcoming Anders Hana back for a DNK concert, having played many concerts through our 20 year history; solo, as half of the duo MoHa! and as a member of Ultralyd.
In this relatively new formation, Malmin, Anders Hana and Olav Christer Rossebø have made a duo which researches folk traditions and recordings from the Rogaland region of Norway and updates them with modern subtleties. The duo consists fiddle, hardanger fiddle and microtonal mandolin, all played by Rossebø, with Hana playing microtonal guitar, langeleik and mouth harp.
For this second album and for this concert they are joined by singer Åshild Vetrhus, who is acknowledged as one of the foremost carriers of the vocal music heritage of Rogaland.
This is very powerful music for its humble instrumentation and the album was already garnered as The Guardian's "folk album of the month" earlier this year.
Location: 'Budapest', Pesthuislaan, Amsterdam Oud West. Pesthuislaan is a pedestrian street, look for the large Buddha in the garden, behind this is the entrance.
